Nothing but Stillness.

A lot of people say, “if the love doesn't excite you, it’s not real.”

But what if love is not the way they tell?
It’s not as loud as a fireworks being lit through the sky,
Nor the fleeting flutter of a butterfly.
Loving beyond romance,
Is loving beyond the thrill.
Yes, it’s not exciting, but it sure is real.
What if love is the pauses that you don't have to fill.
Full of silence that you can conceal.
No audience to demand applause.
Just the two of you being quiet and unnoticed.
What if love is choosing to stay in the state of nothingness.
The kind that outlives the chaos of the passing days.
Yes, what if that is love.
Not something superficial.
Not something about just romance.
But something about beyond that.
Stillness.
What if love is nothing but stillness that knows you well.
What if love is ordinary,
Yet extraordinary in its unchanging nature.
What if the reason why this kind of love is boring…
Is because we believe loudness equals romance,
But actually, it's just a mess tied up in a sparkly bow,
A package of what love is “supposed” to be.
Loving beyond romance,
Is loving beyond the rush,
The kind that stays steady.
That’s real.
That’s love.
