The Communicator's John David Parol and Timothy Andrei Milambiling bag awards in the 5th Assumption Outstanding Campus Press Awards (AOCPA) on January 27.
Parol is hailed 3rd Most Outstanding News Writer for penning the explainer, titled "PUVMP TO PTMP: Bagong Pangalan, Lumang Pangako," that tackled the costs of the Public Transport Modernization Program to jeepney and tricycle drivers.
Meanwhile, Milambiling is the 6th Most Outstanding Editorial Cartoonist for his cartoon on the opinion piece, “Justice on Two Fronts,” showing the Marcos Jr. administration at the crossroads between life sentence and clemency on Mary Jane Veloso's case. This is his third award in the category within three consecutive years since joining the competition.
Their pieces are among the 278 entries submitted this year.
The AOCPA is spearheaded by Regina, the official campus publication of the University of Assumption, recognizing the best of campus journalism across student publications in Luzon.
